Company: Vicinity Social, LLC Effective date: September 25, 2026 Address: 25852 McBean Parkway #831, Valencia, CA 91355 Legal process: legalprocess@vicinity-social.com

These guidelines are for law enforcement officers and other government authorities seeking records from Vicinity Social, LLC. They are not legal advice, and they do not waive any objection, right or defense available to us or to our members.

Send subpoenas, court orders, search warrants, preservation requests and emergency disclosure requests to:

legalprocess@vicinity-social.com

Vicinity Social, LLC 25852 McBean Parkway #831 Valencia, CA 91355

Email is the fastest route and the one we prefer. We acknowledge receipt, usually within two business days. Service by email to this address is accepted as a convenience and is not an agreement that service was otherwise valid.

What to include

A request we can act on names:

  • The account in question, by the email address on it or the member ID. A display name or a photograph is usually not enough to identify an account with confidence.
  • The records sought, described specifically.
  • The time period the request covers.
  • The issuing authority, the case or reference number, and a return email address.

Requests that do not identify an account specifically enough for us to find it will be returned rather than guessed at.

What kind of process is needed

We produce records in response to valid legal process. As a general matter, and subject to the law that applies to the particular request:

RecordsWhat we ask for
Basic subscriber information: the email address on the account, when it was created, and the most recent sign-in datesSubpoena
Non-content records: connection records, device and browser information, coarse location history, billing historyCourt order or search warrant
Content: photos, videos, messages, and profile contentSearch warrant

Preservation requests

We will preserve records for 90 days on a written preservation request, and extend for one further 90-day period on request, while you obtain legal process. Send preservation requests to the address above, identifying the account.

Emergency disclosure

If a request involves a risk of death or serious physical injury to any person, write to legalprocess@vicinity-social.com with EMERGENCY in the subject line, describe the nature of the emergency, and state the records needed to address it. We review emergency requests as fast as we can and may disclose information without legal process where the circumstances warrant it.

Notice to members

Our Terms of Service tell members that we do not notify them before or after disclosing information to law enforcement, and that we will not confirm whether a request concerning them exists. Advance notice can compromise an active investigation and put people at risk. You do not need to obtain a non-disclosure order for us to withhold notice, though you are free to seek one.

What we hold, and for how long

  • Website analytics records the IP address a visit to our marketing website arrived on, kept for 24 months and not linked to any account. They are not records of app activity.
  • Location is stored as an approximate point rather than an exact position, and location history is retained for a limited period.
  • Messages, photos and videos are retained while the account exists. Deleting an account removes them from the service, though copies may remain in routine backups for a short period and in records we are required by law to keep.
  • Content reported for safety reasons is preserved separately and can outlive the account it came from.

If records matter to a case, send a preservation request early. Once data has aged out of retention we cannot recover it.

Child sexual abuse material

Content matching known child sexual abuse material is reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and the associated material and account records are preserved, as federal law requires. NCMEC routes those reports to the appropriate agency. You do not need to serve us to start that process.

Costs and objections

We may seek reimbursement of costs where the law allows. We may object to, narrow or decline a request that is overbroad, unclear, legally insufficient, or not properly served.

Requests from outside the United States

Vicinity operates in the United States. Authorities outside the United States should proceed through a mutual legal assistance treaty or letter rogatory.
